Description: Pottery (vase fragment), 7 x 8,5 cms. Damaged. Two sides. Obverse and reverse respectively remains of one line and four lines in black ink. Beginnings of lines on reverse red ink (see Remarks)? On obverse the beginning of the line is missing. On reverse all lines have lost their beginnings and the text is effaced in some places. Top obverse = top reverse.

Provenance: note that many of the Strasbourg ostraca were excavated by J.E. Quibell in the Ramesseum in 1895-1896 and given to the Bibliothèque Nationale et Universitaire by W.M. Flinders Petrie in 1918 (Koenig, Ostraca Strasbourg , 1; Spiegelberg, ZÄS 58 (1923), 25, note 4). Date(s) attributed: almost certainly belonging to the group of journal ostraca DeM 0040-0044, end Ramesses III - early Ramesses IV (Demaree).
