Le Caprice du Vainqueur
France, 1910

Mlle Rianza, Gabriel Moreau, Delphine Renot
Directed by Ferdinand Zecca, Henri Andréani

“Caesar one day beholds Tsit, a daughter of Tagra, as she is drawing water by the Nile, and her beauty so excites his admiration that he commands that she shall appear before him in his palace. After much delay she does so, and there dances to him so wonderfully that he rises in his seat to clasp her in his arms. But at this moment scarlet tongues of fire leap from between the pillars, rapidly making their sinuous way across the ceiling until the whole place is in flames. The Egyptians, unable to endure tyranny any longer, have revenged themselves, and the last picture of all shows the smoking ruins of Caesar’s palace, standing for the token of their victory over the Romans.” (source: The Bioscope)
