When the public unwrapping of an allegedly ancient Egyptian mummy turns out to reveal the fresh corpse of a contemporary gentleman, it is clear to Dr. Joseph Bell and Conan Doyle that foul play is at hand.

Murder Rooms is a BBC mystery series that tells the fictional account of the crimesolving adventures of Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, in the years before he became famous. The series had its first season in the year 2000, followed by a second season in 2001. This episode 1 of the second season involves a typical 19th century public unwrapping of an Egyptian mummy.
